Cairo International Airport Achieves Record with Over 102,000 Passengers in a Day

Cairo: Cairo International Airport has set a new and unprecedented record, registering the highest operating rate of 102,108 passengers in a single day since its establishment in 1963, the Civil Aviation Ministry announced on Saturday.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the number of flights reached 682, demonstrating the airport’s capability to accommodate increasing travel demand and its efficiency as a gateway for Egypt and a regional travel hub. Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el Hefny stated that these developments align with the Aviation Ministry’s strategic plan, which prioritizes renovating the infrastructure of Egyptian airports, maximizing their capacity, and improving passenger services.

He further noted that the growth in passenger and flight numbers is a promising step towards achieving the development goals of the Egyptian state. This growth is part of the effort to enhance Cairo airport’s capacity to handle 60 million passengers annually, in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
