Cairo: Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el-Hommosani announced remarkable progress in projects of the first phase of the Presidential Initiative Decent Life, stating that the project would be completed before the end of March.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during a phone-in on Monday with “This Morning Program” (Haza el-Sabah) broadcast on Extra News Channel, the cabinet spokesman revealed that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli’s meeting on Sunday indicated a 95% accomplishment rate in the project. The spokesperson expressed confidence that the development work in 150 villages would be completed before the end of March, in line with the previously set timetable.
Hommosani highlighted that the total spending on the first phase of the initiative has exceeded EGP 350 billion. He noted that 70% of these funds are dedicated to projects aimed at upgrading citizens’ living conditions, with a particular focus on essential sectors such as water and sanitation for many villages.
Regarding the second phase of
the project, Hommosani mentioned that it would involve completing several projects in governorates and regions that lack basic services. He announced that the second phase would commence soon, coinciding with the conclusion of the first phase, emphasizing the importance of providing necessary services to citizens.
