Cabinet Spokesman Announces Completion Timeline for Decent Life Initiative’s First Phase


Cairo: Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el-Hommosani has announced significant progress in the first phase of the Presidential Initiative Decent Life, stating that the project is on track for completion before the end of March.



According to State Information Service Egypt, el-Hommosani made this announcement during a phone interview on Monday, March 10, 2025, with “This Morning Program” (Haza el-Sabah) broadcast on Extra News Channel. He shared that a recent meeting led by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli revealed a 95% completion rate for the project, with the development of 150 villages expected to be finalized by the end of March.



El-Hommosani affirmed that the implementation is progressing in line with the previously established timetable. He noted that the total expenditure on the first phase of the initiative has surpassed EGP 350 billion, with 70% of these funds dedicated to projects aimed at improving living conditions for citizens, particularly focusing on essential sectors such as water and sanitation in numerous villages.



Discussing the second phase of the Decent Life project, el-Hommosani mentioned that it will involve the continuation of several projects in governorates and regions that lack basic services. He added that the second phase will commence soon, aligning with the conclusion of the first phase, emphasizing the critical need to provide essential services to the citizens.
