Cabinet issues bylaw to regulate real estate sector

Amman: A Cabinet session held Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, decided to approve the mandating reasons for the draft bylaw for regulating the Kingdom’s real estate sector.

The bylaw governs activities of the real estate offices and brokers, and organizes profession of valuation surveyor and registration of the industry’s appraisers for the year 2024, and referred the regulation to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau to proceed with the procedures for its issuance according to the rules in force.

The regulation aims to issue a unified system for sectorial licenses issued by Department of Lands and Survey (DLS) and broadly unify procedures for this process.

The step also seeks to keep pace with emerging circumstances, especially the e-transformation process, control illegal practices, and other procedures that regulate the work environment.
