Cabinet: Egypt’s economy continued its strong performance in 2021

The Cabinet’s media center said on Saturday 22/01/2022 that the Egyptian economy continued to show strong performance in 2021 under the economic and structural reforms pursued by the State over the past years.

In a report, the center said the economic reforms contributed to improving economic and financial indicators, attracting more local and foreign investments, transforming the accumulated challenges into promising investment opportunities, and supporting the State’s ability to confront the negative impact of Covid-19.

Egypt’s economy achieved positive growth rates for the second year in a row to record 3.3% in 2020/2021, the center said.

The report indicated that unemployment rates declined for the second consecutive year to hit 7.5% in the third quarter of 2021.

Inflation rates reached 5.2% in 2021, compared to 5% in 2020, according to the report.
