Cabinet book documents presidential Decent Life initiative

The cabinet book entitled “vision and achievement..Egypt goes ahead” documented the achievements of the presidential Decent Life initiative, which was launched in 2019.

The initiative aimed at improving the quality of life of around 58 million Egyptians, living in 4500 villages nationwide, at a cost of EGP 700 billion.

The book pointed out that Decent Life is a purely Egyptian initiative aiming at developing the villages and rural areas, using Egyptian resources.

For the first time in history, more than 20 ministries and 23 NGOs worked hand in hand with the private sector to implement such ambitious project.

The initiative serves the neediest villages through implementing several projects, including establishing natural gas network, installing communication and optical fiber cables, internet services, as well as providing advanced governmental services to residents.

The book highlighted that the Decent Life initiative and the Upper Egypt Local Development Program were listed earlier this year on the SDG Good Practices platform of the United Nations.
