The British Council in Jordan successfully concluded two major events for the 2024/2025 academic year: the Partner Schools’ Teachers Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Forum and the Partner Schools Leaders Conference.
Both events, centered around the theme of “Leading Wellbeing and Safeguarding in 21st Century Schools,” were held at the Movenpick Hotel Amman, making a significant impact on the education sector in Jordan and across the MENA region.
The inaugural CPD Forum attracted over 270 representatives from British Council Partner Schools, creating a dynamic space for learning, collaboration, and professional growth. The event featured an array of interactive sessions, hands-on workshops, and expert-led discussions.
Opening speeches were delivered by senior British Council officials and a representative from the Jordanian Ministry of Education.
A highlight of the forum was the session “Towards a Safe School Culture: The Role of Teachers” by Hana Adel, British Council Regional Safeguarding Manage
r for MENA. The session underscored the importance of safeguarding and well-being for both teachers and students. Other key sessions included Train the Trainers: Delivering Sessions, Meetings, and Workshops Effectively by Katarzyna Foley; Using Technology in the Classroom: AI, Gamified Learning, and STEM Integration by Joseph Lee; Unlocking Middle Leaders’ Potential: Cross-Curricular Integration Techniques by Anas Mohammad; Classroom Management Techniques: Creating Positive Learning Environments by Andrea Pulpea; and Online Support for Schools Platform by Thomas Evans and British Council Global Staff.
Attendees were able to tailor their experience by selecting sessions most relevant to their professional development, fostering a personalized learning experience.
Following the CPD Forum, the annual Partner Schools Leaders Conference took place on August 28-29, with over 200 educational leaders from Jordan and the MENA region in attendance.
This flagship event offered a platform for school leaders to exchang
e best practices, discuss innovative approaches, and engage in strategic dialogues on the future of education. The timing of the conference, held at the start of the academic year, was a direct response to feedback from Partner Schools, ensuring maximum relevance and impact.
Key sessions during the conference included Safeguarding in 21st Century Schools by Hana Adel; Updates on the Partner Schools Educational Offer by Thomas Evans; and Strategic discussions on current and future educational policies led by representatives from the Jordanian Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education.
