Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdallah Bou Habib, headed today to New York to participate in the works of the UN Security Council session at the ministerial level on the situation in the Middle East, scheduled for Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

Bou Habib will also hold a series of high-level diplomatic meetings and activities.

The accompanying delegation consists of Lebanon’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York – Hadi Hashem, Director of the Minister’s Office – Walid Haidar, Advisor to the Prime Minister – Ziad Mikati.

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has made a phone call to his newly-appointed Kuwaiti counterpart, Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, to congratulate him on assuming his post.

Shoukry extended his best wishes to the Kuwaiti foreign minister, emphasizing the depth of the bilateral ties between both countries.

During the conversation, the Egyptian top diplomat expressed his commitment to continuing collaborative efforts to enhance bilateral relations and expand their horizons, as well as to strengthen joint Arab action.

In response, the Kuwaiti foreign minister expressed his appreciation for Shoukry’s king gesture. He emphasized the importance of ongoing bilateral coordination and consultation to develop various areas of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in regards to Arab, regional and international matters of mutual interest.
