A 12-year-old boy drowned earlier on Tuesday in the King Abdullah Canal in the Northern Jordan Valley, despite attempts by the Civil Defense Department to resuscitate him. Director of Abu Obeida Jarrah Dr. Moayad Shukour told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the young boy was dead on arrival and that the body was transferred to the Northern Region Forensic Medicine Center to determine the cause of death.
