Belt and Road Summit sets new record for MoUs


HONG KONG: The 9th Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong concluded today, setting a record with 25 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed in just two days.

Over 280 investment projects were matched, with more than 800 individual meetings held, reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a key driver of economic cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative.

The summit focused on energy, natural resources, innovation, and logistics, with participants from over 70 countries. More than 90 senior leaders explored new opportunities, marking the beginning of the golden decade for the initiative.

The event also featured discussions on emerging markets in the Middle East and Belt and Road regions, as well as key speeches emphasising industrialisation, innovation, and sustainable growth. Two sub-sessions covered connectivity and cultural cooperation, enhancing understanding and relations along the Belt and Road route.
