Barham inaugurates several projects in Salfit and inspects the progress of the educational process


Salfit-Ma’an- Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Amjad Barham inaugurated a group of new projects that included adding classrooms and facilities to a number of schools in Salfit Education, and inspected the progress of the educational process in the governorate.

The Minister began his visit by meeting with the Governor of Salfit, Major General Dr. Abdullah Kamil. Then, he, the Indian Ambassador to the State of Palestine, Renu Yadav, and the Governor paid an inspection visit to Salfit Girls Elementary School, where he was briefed on the progress of education there. School bags were distributed to first-grade students, donated by the Indian Ambassador, who expressed her country’s solidarity with the Palestinian people by supporting education and providing these bags, as an expression of cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

The tour included the opening of several projects aimed at improving the educational environment and serving students in the governorate. These included adding
several rooms to the Deir Istiya Boys Elementary School, which contained a library, laboratories, and a school garden, with the efforts and support of the local community, and the opening of a new building in the Deir Istiya Girls Elementary School, which includes an administrative unit and a meeting hall, built in cooperation with the Deir Istiya Municipality and the local community.

In his speech during the tour, Barham stressed that developing the educational environment can only be achieved through concerted efforts between the local community and institutions, pointing out that Salfit represents a wonderful model for this fruitful cooperation, adding that improving the school environment and providing it with the necessary resources is a priority for the ministry, stressing the ministry’s keenness to meet the needs of schools; to ensure quality and distinguished education for students across the country.

The minister stressed the importance of focusing on the vocational education sector, affirming the
ministry’s efforts to enhance this vital sector in various governorates to meet the needs of the local and international labor market, which gives students wider opportunities to build their future, as he visited the building of the vocational school in Bidya.

In turn, Governor Kamil praised the ministry’s efforts in supporting educational institutions, noting that investing in education is an investment in the future, stressing the governorate’s continued support for all efforts that contribute to developing the educational process. For her

part, Yadav confirmed her readiness to employ her efforts to enhance Palestinian-Indian cooperation in the field of education and build a school in Salfit.

At the end of his tour, the minister held a meeting with school principals and department heads in the directorate; Their needs were discussed in light of the start of the new school year, and during the meeting, views were exchanged on several issues, including dealing with educational loss.
