Barham discusses with Tunisian Minister of Education enhancing cooperation principles to serve education


Ramallah-Ma’an- Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Amjad Barham met in Tunisia today with Tunisian Minister of Education Dr. Noureddine Nouri, and discussed with him ways to enhance cooperation to serve the public education sector in both countries.

During the meeting, they agreed to implement twinning programs between Palestinian and Tunisian schools, and discussed the possibility of benefiting from Tunisian teachers, and their involvement in some educational initiatives directed at students in the Gaza Strip, and cooperation in the field of evaluation and others.

In this context, Barham expressed his thanks to Tunisia for its continued support for the Palestinian education sector, expressing his hope that these meetings will be an integral part of crystallizing the features of broad horizons for cooperation in the education sector between the two brotherly countries, informing the Tunisian minister of the ongoing aggression of the occupation against the Palestinian education sector, especiall
y in Gaza.

In turn, the Tunisian minister informed his Palestinian counterpart of the development axes that the Tunisian ministry is working on to advance the educational system, praising the historical ties and strong relations between the two countries, especially in the field of education.

It is noteworthy that this meeting falls within the framework of his participation in the conference organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in coordination with the Palestinian National Commission for Education, Culture and Science at the organization’s headquarters in the Republic of Tunisia, under the title: ‘The Reality of Children’s Education in the City of Jerusalem,’ amidst emphasis on the need to protect their right to free and safe education.
