Bahrain will hoster the first edition of the U-15 and U-20 Asian Wrestling Championship on July 2-10 at the Khalifa Sports City arena.
Bahrain Wrestling Society is organizing the competition in cooperation with the Bahrain Martial Arts Council and the Asian Wrestling Federation under the supervision of the International Wrestling Federation.
A total of 675 wrestlers will take part in the championship, representing seventeen countries – Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, India, Iran, China, Japan, Kazakhstan and Korea.
Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Sri Lankan, Tajikistan, Taiwan and Uzbekistan will also take part in the competition, which will be officiated by 49 referees accredited by the International Wrestling Federation.
The organizing committee said that all preparations and arrangements have been taken to ensure the success of the continental competition.
