Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb said Sunday that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is highly esteemed by Egyptians and Arabs.

Tayyeb, during a meeting with Saudi Ambassador in Cairo Osama bin Ahmed Noqali at Al Azhar HQ, said the prestigious religious institution of Egypt highly appreciates efforts by King Salman bin Abdel Aziz in the service of Arab and Muslim affairs.

He also greatly appreciated measures taken by Riyadh to serve Muslim pilgrims.

For his part, ambassador Noqali expressed gratitude to the grand imam for his religious and educational role in serving the Muslim world.
