Azerbaijan offers Jordanian students scholarships for all study, residency programs in medicine


Amman: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Monday the availability of full scholarships for Jordanian students in all programs (bachelor, master, and doctorate) in addition to the residency program in medicine provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on behalf of the Heydar Aliyev International Education Grant Program for the academic year 2024-2025.

“The grant includes covering tuition fees, a monthly stipend, international airline tickets, accommodation and registration costs, medical insurance, a visa, and a temporary residence permit,” the ministry said in a statement.

It pointed out that the application conditions are as follows: the student should not be more than 35 years old for undergraduate and general medicine programs, 40 years old for postgraduate and medical residency programs, and 45 years old for the doctoral program, and the student must obtain a score of 40 in the TOEFL exam and 5 i
n the IELTS exam for the undergraduate program, and the student must obtain a score of 50 in the TOEFL and (5.5) in the IELTS exam for the postgraduate program.

The ministry added that the application mechanism is as follows: The first stage of application: Fill out the application form duly with the required documents and submit it in a closed file to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Students Abroad, and Cultural Agreements Division.

According to the statement, the period for submitting applications and documents to the Ministry begins on May 13 and ends at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 16).

Second stage: After the names are nominated by the Ministry, the student must apply through the Centralized Admission Service for Study in Azerbaijan (SIACAS) website (portal.edu.az), during the period from June 16 to July 1.

The student’s grade in the general secondary school certificate or its equivalent must not be less than 90 percent to join the bachelor’s program in the specialties of (human
medicine) and (dentistry), and the student’s grade must not be less than (good) in the bachelor’s certificate to join the master’s program, and the student’s grade must not be less than (good) in the master’s certificate to join the doctoral program in the Adiran universities recognized by the ministry.

The ministry also requires the student to abide by the 2023 instructions for the equivalency of non-Jordanian certificates.
