Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa has warned against stealing public and state funds, stressing it is a prohibited crime in Islam.

Addressing worshippers during the weekly sermon earlier Friday, the minister said that the Prophet Muhammad clearly pointed out the difference between halal (legal) and haram (illegal) income.

Gomaa stressed the importance of “halal” earnings that are in line with the teachings of Islam.
