Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa has described translation as one of the most important axes of human and cultural communications among peoples especially in the religious domains.
Addressing a conference on translation on Sunday 29/1/2023, the minister stressed the importance of coordination between his ministry and the Ministry of Culture to achieve that goal.
He termed the translation as the process of openness to the world in terms of religious and cultural thoughts in the aftermath of attempts by extremist groups to distort parts of Arab and Islamic culture.
Minister Gomaa called on those who translate books about the religious discourse to be accurate and be wise towards the culture and the nature of others, saying some 152 books about religious discourse have been translated so far.
