Awqaf Minister Seeks Enhanced Cooperation with Malaysia to Support Moderate Islamic Discourse


Putrajaya: Awqaf Minister Osama el Azhari asserted on Monday 24/2/2025 that Egypt’s stance on the Palestinian cause is not merely an individual determination, but it reflects the collective opinion of more than two billion Muslims worldwide.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister made these remarks during a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Malaysian government’s premises in Putrajaya. This meeting was part of the Egyptian minister’s official visit aimed at enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Malaysia in religious and cultural domains. The focus is on expanding joint efforts to spread the moderate teachings of Islam and promote a discourse of moderation.

The Malaysian Prime Minister expressed full support for Egypt’s position on the Palestinian issue, underscoring Malaysia’s commitment to Muslim unity.
