Awqaf MInister meets JPA president


Amman: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mohammad Khalaileh, received on Tuesday Jordan Press Association (JPA) President Rakan Saaydeh, Vice President Jamal Ishtaiwi and JPA Secretary Sami Harbi to discuss ways of cooperation between the ministry and the JPA.

The meeting aimed to discuss the bases for accrediting the press and media mission and the number of journalists scheduled to cover the current year’s Hajj season.

Khalaileh emphasized the ministry’s keenness to cooperate with the JPA as a reference point for dealing with the media outlets, lauding JPA and media outlets’s role in contributing to highlighting the ministry’s efforts, especially during the Hajj season, and communicating accurate information.

Khalaileh also expressed the ministry’s keenness to provide the best services to pilgrims and fulfill all duties towards them, noting that administrative, medical, media, preaching, and guidance missions will accompany pilgrims throughout the season to provide help and assistance in all stages
of performing Hajj.

Saaydeh pointed out the importance of the role of the press and media outlets mission to cover Hajj news professionally and objectively, commending the meeting outcomes, which resulted in increasing the number of participants in the press and media mission from 12 to 16 members in order to do justice to the fellow journalists, as they have additional burdens on their shoulders.

He explained that the journalists carry out their journalistic and professional duties in the media coverage of the mission and follow up on the conditions of pilgrims, lauding the Awqaf Ministry’s efforts in conducting missions and serving pilgrims.

Saaydeh expressed his appreciation for the capabilities provided by the ministry to the media mission and its cooperation through the Hajj and Umrah Directorate, which emphasizes the importance of the media, its message and its national role.
