Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for the great development of Hussein Mosque that was re-opened on the first day of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
During a phone call with a program on Sada El Balad satellite channel, he said it was hard to finish renovating the Hussein Mosque in such a brief period that was expected to take about six months.
He added that the president is interested in upgrading mosques and shrines of Ahl al-Bayt” (the family of Prophet Muhammad).
He noted that 89 mosques were opened nationwide last Friday and about 52 mosques will be inaugurated next Friday.
