Jordanian expatriates returning home for the summer vacation can now enjoy a three-month temporary entry period for their foreign-registered vehicles, along with simplified electronic services, announced the Jordan Customs on Tuesday.
The simplified process allows Jordanians to add drivers directly at the border crossing upon entry, provided they meet the necessary requirements.
“Last summer season, we saw over 188,000 foreign vehicles enter Jordan,” said Ali Majali, Assistant Director of the Temporary Entry Directorate.
“Throughout the year, that number climbs to over 800,000, and our customs personnel are committed to providing efficient services, especially through the Foreign Vehicles and Temporary Entry Department.”
Expatriates can now access various temporary entry services electronically, including extensions, adding or removing drivers, vehicle removal, and permit review via the Jordan Customs website: https://services.customs.gov.jo/ForeignCarLice/login.aspx.
The department also offers an online
portal to inquire about a foreign vehicle’s authorized stay: https://services.customs.gov.jo/ForeignCarPeriod/period_Search.aspx
In special cases where Jordanians need to stay longer due to medical treatment or other humanitarian reasons, Majali explained that the department has the authority to assess the situation and provide necessary extensions, following legal guidelines and specific circumstances.
This initiative aligns with Jordan Customs’ ongoing efforts to digitize services, promoting efficiency and keeping pace with government electronic transformation programs, added the statement.
