Asil Arabian horse club celebrates its 50th anniversary in Germany


BERLIN: The Asil Club on Tuesday celebrated the 50th anniversary of its founding along with the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS) in Germany.

The event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the EAHS, and the follow-up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of EAHS.

Dubbed “His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan – 50th Anniversary of the Asil Club”, the celebration honoured Sheikh Mansour’s contributions to promoting Arabian horses globally.

Mohamed Al Harbi, Director-General of the EAHS, and Dr. George Olms, President of the Asil Club, attended the event.

The EAHS marked the occasion with a rider in traditional Emirati dress, symbolising the strong bond with Arabian horses and EAHS’s prominent role in equestrian events.

The celebration featured performances by purebred Arabians, showcasing their el
egance, fitness, and skill. The event also included endurance rides and horse-riding sports infused with authentic Arab culture.

Al Harbi and Olms then exchanged commemorative shields, highlighting the significance of the occasion.

For 50 years, the Asil Club has been deeply interested in and involved in Arabian horses. It is headed by Dr. George Olms, who owns the publishing house that bears his name. He is also a prominent breeder of Arabian horses in Germany and owns a well-known breeding stud.
