HEBRON: Heavily armed Israeli settlers, accompanied by an Israeli military escort, targeted and intimidated local civilian residents today in the Old City of Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
WAFA correspondent said a group of settlers from the Kiryat Arba settlement, illegally built on the lands of local residents east of Hebron, engaged in acts of terrorism against local civilians in the Jaber neighborhood of the Old City of Hebron.
During their rampage in the neighborhood, the settlers conducted degrading searches, preventing residents from standing on the balconies, windows, rooftops, and entrances of their own homes.
Terror attacks by Israeli settler militias are a common feature of the daily life under colonial settler occupation, but have seen exponential growth in recent months with the rise of ultranationalist fascism in Israel’s government coalition.
