Cairo: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel Mageed Saqr on Saturday 25/1/2025 sent a cable of greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on the occasion of the anniversary of Al-Israa and Al-Miraj of the hijri year 1446. In his cable, the defense minister – on behalf of the Armed Forces personnel – extended best wishes to the president upon such miraculous event that was dedicated to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

According to State Information Service Egypt, a similar cable of greetings was sent by Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Ahmed Khalifa to President Sisi. The defense minister also greeted the grand imam of Al Azhar, the mufti and the awqaf minister on Al-Israa and Al-Miraj occasion.

The anniversary of Al-Israa and Al-Miraj (Night Journey and Ascension of the Prophet), is observed by Muslims on the 27th of the Hijri month of Rajab. The event marks the night that Allah took the Prophet Muhammad on a night journey from Mecca to Al Quds and then to heaven.
