Arabic Language Conference in Southeast Asia starts in Amman

Amman: The activities of the Arabic Language Academy 2024 annual conference entitled Arabic Language in Southeast Asia started Wednesday in Amman.

President of the Arab Thought Forum Prince El Hassan bin Talal, who sponsored the conference, discussed adopting a global national strategy to promote the Arabic language to spread and preserve the Arabic language.

He called for relying on scientific thought to translate abstract ideas and theories into tangible work programmes on the ground, search for patterns, and adopt a comprehensive view to investigate the links between the intellect and science.

Prince El Hassan added that strengthening institutional work in developing modern Arabic dictionaries, whether general or specialised and focusing on creative stylistics in addressing others at all levels is necessary to activate the Arabic language globally.

He discussed increasing Arabic content through writing and translation on the Internet in the “correct” language and intensifying the publication of selecte
d texts from Arabic poetry directed to all age groups.
