The Arab League Monday called on the international community to stand by Lebanon amid ongoing Israeli air strikes.
The continued Israeli attacks could lead to an expansion of the conflict, and that a diplomatic solution is still possible according to United Nations resolution 1701, which the Lebanese government has repeatedly declared it is committed to, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said in a statement.
Aboul Gheit expressed the pan-Arab organization’s solidarity with Lebanon “in the difficult circumstances it is going through,” condemning the relentless Israeli strikes, which killed hundreds and displaced about a million people
