Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Abdel Moneim Al Tarras and Foreign Minister of Madagascar Patrick Rajoelina probed Saturday ways to promote exchanging expertise and training cooperation.
During their meeting earlier today, in the presence of Madagascar special envoy to Egypt Maminiaina Ravatomanga, the two sides also discussed coordinating the countries’ positions on various issues of mutual concern during the 21st Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Summit Egypt is hosting in the New Administrative Capital on Tuesday.
They also explored potential commercial and investment partnership opportunities, and how to make use of the organization’s expertise in civil as well as military industries, including infrastructure, water technologies, medical supplies, new energy, communications and electronics, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, surveillance cameras, and eco-friendly natural gas vehicles, among others.
Tarras said that the organization is putting all its manufacturing and technological capabilities at the disposal of the sisterly African nation to support the development projects under construction in Madagascar.
Highlighting the importance of increasing intra-COMESA trade and investment volumes, Terras also stressed that “Africa must assume its rightful position on the world stage as an active partner in global economy.”
Meanwhile, Rajoelina asserted the need to push forward Egypt’s partnership with Madagascar make the best use of Egypt’s broad experience to build the capacities of human cadres in Madagascar.
