The Arab Organisation for Administrative Development (AOAD), affiliated with the Arab League, in cooperation with the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Award for Public Finance (SAPF), is organising the first Arab Financial Forum to discuss the best experiences and leading practices in public finance to address contemporary challenges. This forum will take place from 24th to 25th December in Egypt.
The forum aims to highlight the best practices in public finance management and enhance the exchange of knowledge and experiences among countries, thus strengthening the ability of Arab countries to confront contemporary challenges.
Dr. Nasser Al Hatlan Al Qahtani, Director General of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development, stated: ‘The first Arab Financial Forum aims to showcase the best practices and experiences in public finance management, in addition to exchanging knowledge and experiences with various participating entities. It also aims to discuss the most prominent challenges and issues rela
ted to financial resources in the public sector and to adopt new policies that enhance public financial management to better meet societal aspirations and develop work in the government sector, amidst emerging challenges and circumstances.’
On his part, Salem Youssef Al Qaseer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Award in Public Finance, stated: ‘The launch of this forum comes as a translation of the directives and vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who seeks to empower and coordinate efforts with various governmental entities and institutions in the Arab region. It aims to promote the best experiences and successful applications in public finance management, leading towards comprehensive and sustainable development in all its forms and dimensions, and ultimately achieving a true economy that builds an integrated system motivated by awareness and knowledge to achieve and sustain societal prosperity.’
The forum will discuss six ma
in themes, including the first theme of integrated budget management, the second theme of the impact of financial and economic policies on public finance, the third theme of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, the fourth theme of improving government spending efficiency, the fifth theme of transparency and anti-corruption, and the sixth theme of distinguished experiences.
The forum targets excellencies, ministers, heads of governmental bodies in ministries and financial entities in Arab countries, financial managers in government entities and various local departments, researchers and specialists in public finance, budget management, accounting, internal control, auditing, and review. Additionally, it includes those working in organising the financial and banking sectors, employees in investment institutions and sovereign funds, as well as officials responsible for financial audit and control in governments and financial institutions, along with all professionals in the field of public financ
