Cairo: Ambassador Mohamed el-Shenawy assumes his new duties Wednesday as Egypt’s presidential spokesman, succeeding Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, who was appointed as the Egyptian Ambassador to Hungary.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Shenawy previously served as Egypt’s ambassador to Hungary from 2021 to 2024. His distinguished career also includes roles as minister plenipotentiary and counselor at the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations in New York and at the Egyptian Embassy in The Hague. The newly appointed presidential spokesman holds a master’s degree in international law from the University of London.
