Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati said his ministry has raised alerts at all departments and bodies to monitor water levels in canals and drains as well as to ensure that the bridges sector is ready to face any emergency, and that power plants, their electricity feeders, and relevant mobile emergency units at hot sites are all well-prepared for any adverse weather conditions.
Abdel Aati has received a report that reviews the status of measures taken by the irrigation ministry’s bodies to deal with the heavy rains that hit a number of governorates nationwide on January 26.
The minister pointed out to the periodic follow-up of flood protection installations, and their preparedness to deal with rains.
