ABU DHABI: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Aldar announced a partnership to sponsor the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, the largest and newest addition to the local jiu-jitsu calendar, which kicked off its first round last Friday, at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City.
The announcement followed an agreement signed by Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Federation and Bayan Al Hosani, Chief People and Communications Officer at Aldar, on the sidelines of the ongoing event.
Under the agreement, Aldar will provide multifaceted support for the event, including various community activities throughout the championship’s five rounds. The support aims to enhance the championship’s status as a leading platform for promoting and developing jiu-jitsu at the local level.
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, in collaboration with Aldar, will organise a series of community events at several Aldar shopping malls, residential communities, and schools throughout the season.
These efforts align w
ith the Federation’s goals of expanding the base of practitioners and raise community awareness of the sport, its benefits, and values. They will also help to engage community members in practical initiatives that encourage a healthy lifestyle embracing Jiu-jitsu for its role in developing self-defense techniques and physical endurance while also fostering values of respect, commitment, discipline, determination, and sportsmanship.
Fahad Ali Al Shamsi praised the significant role of partners in supporting and enhancing the Federation’s plans and programs to establish the UAE as a leader in the global jiu-jitsu scene. He affirmed that the new partnership with Aldar will elevate the local sports scene to new heights.
