ALC joins 47th Riyadh International Book Fair

ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) is set to participate in the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024, organised by the Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, from 26th September to 5th October. The ALC will showcase 600 different titles from its publications, catering to literature and culture enthusiasts.

By taking part in the event, which will be held at King Saud University in Riyadh, the ALC aims to attract Saudi universities, libraries, agents, and private publishing houses to purchase and distribute its books. It also seeks to explore the fair’s accompanying activities to gain inspiration and ideas for implementation at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF).

The ALC’s participation in the Riyadh International Book Fair aligns with its commitment to engaging in regional and international cultural events, promoting its projects and publications, and advancing the Arabic language. The Centre remains dedicated to fostering a culture of reading across all segmen
ts of the community.

Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the ALC, said, “The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre is committed to participating in leading regional and international cultural events and actively engaging with their activities, alongside key players and stakeholders in the publishing industry. These efforts support the Centre’s role in advancing the Arab cultural movement, underscoring Abu Dhabi’s contributions in building cultural bridges between civilisations and its position as a beacon of knowledge and learning.”

“The Riyadh International Book Fair is one of the most important cultural gatherings in the region, having successfully brought together leading Arab and international publishing houses for over four decades,” he added. “It offers a wide range of activities and publications that showcase the authenticity of Arab culture and highlight the unique features of the Arabic language.”

The Riyadh International Book Fair gathers distinguished companies, institutions, and individuals involved in l
iterature, publishing, and translation. It plays a vital role in fostering a passion for reading and raising literary, cultural, and artistic awareness through its comprehensive programme, which includes panel discussions, poetry evenings, theatre productions, musical performances, and workshops covering various fields.
