Amman: Arab League (AL) Assistant Secretary General and Head of Economic Affairs Sector Ali Ibn Ibrahim al Maliki has reiterated the unwavering support of the AL for Egypt’s right to the Nile River’s water. This affirmation was made through various Arab ministerial councils, notably the Arab Ministerial Water Council.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Maliki expressed these sentiments in exclusive statements to MENA, during his participation in the 6th Arab Water Conference held in Jordan. The AL, alongside several Arab nations, is actively collaborating with Egypt to safeguard its water entitlements.
Maliki further explained that the AL is committed to providing all necessary forms of support to Egypt and other Arab countries to ensure the preservation of their water rights. The pan-Arab organization is dedicated to leaving no stone unturned in this effort, working tirelessly with Egypt and other member states to maintain these vital resources.
He also highlighted that the primary aim of this
support is to foster Arab cooperation and joint action, enhance it, and eliminate any hurdles that might impede the water resources of Arab member states, including Egypt.
