Al Azhar strongly condemned the terrorist attack launched by Daesh militants on an Iraqi military post in Diyala province earlier on Friday, leaving 11 of the army personnel dead.
In a statement, Al Azhar renewed its rejection of all crimes and acts of violence committed by terror groups, stressing the need for international solidarity to uproot and eliminate terrorism.
Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb extended his sincere condolences to the Iraqi government and people, as well as the victims’ families.
