AL AIN: Al Ain Zoo celebrates World Veterinary Day, observed this year on 27th April, under the theme ‘Veterinarians are essential health workers’.
Throughout the years, Al Ain Zoo has marked significant milestones in veterinary and animal care, adhering to the highest international standards.
The veterinary team, comprising skilled doctors, assistants, and technicians, holds specialised certifications and continually enhances their expertise through training programmes. These efforts ensure top-notch care for animals across diverse species, prioritising their safety and well-being.
Over the past four years, Al Ain Zoo has welcomed 19 students from various universities for practical training, fostering the next generation of veterinary professionals.
Recent statistics from the zoo reveal impressive figures: 2,455 laboratory tests conducted and 448 doses of vaccinations administered. Currently, the zoo oversees the welfare of 4,067 animals spanning 215 different species.

World Veterinary Day is celebrated every year on the last Saturday of April. This day is dedicated to recognise the efforts of veterinarians all over the world.
