As a follow-up to the statement issued by the Beirut Port Administration and Investment Authority regarding the delay in unloading live livestock ships at the port, the Ministry of Agriculture explained in a statement today that ‘livestock ships arriving at the Beirut Port are unloaded on their same day of arrival, even on official holidays and weekends, after conducting a series of analyzes, laboratory tests, and quarantine procedures necessary for livestock, as specified in laws and decisions for health safety purposes.”
Accordingly, the Agriculture Ministry urged those concerned at the Beirut Port administration to check with the Ministry before issuing any statement to avoid misleading public opinion.
