ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) is taking part in the 21st Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX 2024), spanning 31st August to 8th September 2024.
The Department’s pavilion, showcasing a wide range of displays, aims to promote legal culture related to hunting and equestrian activities and deliver awareness messages in innovative ways.
Counsellor Youssef Saeed Al Abri, ADJD’s Under-Secretary, stated that the Department’s participation aims to raise awareness among those interested in hunting, equestrian sports, and camel racing. It also seeks to familiarise them with the laws and regulations governing these activities in the UAE.
This aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Judicial Department, to actively engage in various platforms to convey educational messages that promote security and stability through law enforcement.
Cou
nsellor Al Abri noted that the hunting and equestrian exhibition is a leading specialised platform that highlights Abu Dhabi’s deep heritage and traditions in hunting and equestrianism.
He emphasised that the Department’s participation offers an important opportunity to engage with those interested in these sports. Al Abri added that the Department focuses on the educational and informative aspects of legal materials, which play a crucial role in providing preventive protection, maintaining rights, ensuring compliance with laws, and achieving justice. This, in turn, positively impacts the economic and social environment, helps preserve achievements in various sectors, and enhances Abu Dhabi’s competitiveness and global position.
The Department’s pavilion showcases the creations of inmates from correctional and rehabilitation centres, including handicrafts, artworks, and other creative pieces. This initiative aims to support inmates’ work, improve their skills, and facilitate their reintegration into society
.
The pavilion also includes an electronic library with various publications on legal and judicial topics, as well as resources on the laws governing the sports sector in the UAE. Visitors can watch an introductory film that highlights the significant role played by the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in establishing a supportive system for various sports, particularly hunting and equestrianism.
Additionally, the Department has a designated area in its pavilion showcasing the services of the English Notary Services Bureau, the first of its kind in the Middle East. This bureau plays a vital role in supporting the business sector by simplifying legal procedures and enhancing ease of doing business, thus boosting the Emirate’s competitive position in global rankings and its attractiveness to foreign investments.
The Department offers various publications on sports and hunting to exhibition attendees, including materials from Abu Dhabi branch of the Court of Arbitration for S
port (CAS), and research and studies from the Sports and Law magazine, which focus on sports disputes and laws. These publications also provide information on the jurisdiction of the International Arbitration Court and updates on laws and regulations from the International Arbitration Council, sports federations, and the International Olympic Committee.
