ADIHEX 2024 begins 31 August showcasing Emirati heritage, fishing traditions


ABU DHABI: The 21st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2024 will take place from 31st August to 8th September, 2024, at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, the exhibition will feature thousands of brands across 11 diverse sectors.

Organised for the first time by Capital Events, the events arm of ADNEC Group, it will celebrate the rich fusion of Emirati cultural traditions with cutting-edge innovation and technology, including the strongly supported Fishing and Marine Sports section.

Under the theme ‘Embracing the Future, Honouring the Past’, ADIHEX 2024 will showcase the UAE’s commitment to preserving its rich cultural heritage while embracing modern advancements in the outdoor and marine industries. This year’s event promises to be a remarkable celebration of tradition and progress, uniting audiences of all ages in a
shared appreciation for the timeless beauty and excitement of the great outdoors, with exhibitors showcasing their products from both local and international companies.

The Fishing and Marine Sports section of ADIHEX 2024 is set to be a key attraction, drawing in both seasoned anglers and newcomers alike. With a coastline that stretches over 1,300 kilometres, the UAE has long been a haven for fishing enthusiasts. The waters of the Arabian Gulf are rich with popular species such as barracuda, flying fish, dorado, hamour, sharks, stingrays, kingfish, angelfish, cobia and tuna – to name a few – making it an ideal destination for those looking to experience the thrill of the catch, for both the pot and for competition.

ADIHEX 2024 will feature the latest advancements in fishing technology, showcasing innovative equipment that enhances the fishing experience while promoting sustainability. Fishing has been an integral part of Emirati culture for centuries, and ADIHEX 2024 will pay tribute to this enduring tradit
ion. From eco-friendly fishing gear to state-of-the-art vessels, the exhibition will highlight how modern technology is transforming the industry. Visitors can explore a range of cutting-edge fishing rods, reels, and accessories designed to maximise efficiency and enjoyment. Exhibitors will also present eco-friendly solutions that minimise environmental impact, ensuring that the rich marine life of the UAE is preserved for future generations.

The event will feature cultural displays and workshops that explore traditional fishing methods, allowing visitors to learn about the techniques and tools that have been passed down through generations and are still in use today. Attendees will be able to experience the art of traditional net-making, line fishing, and dhow-building, as skilled artisans demonstrate age-old practices. Additionally, visitors can engage with local fishermen as they share captivating stories and insights into the history of fishing in the UAE, alongside local more modern fishing techniques e
mployed today.

Besides fishing, the Fishing and Marine Sports section will showcase a variety of open-water activities that cater to adventurers and thrill-seekers. From scuba diving and snorkelling to kiteboarding and windsurfing, the exhibition will provide a comprehensive look at the exciting possibilities that await adventure seekers in the UAE’s waters. Visitors will discover the vibrant underwater world of the Arabian Gulf, where colourful coral reefs and marine life create a breathtaking spectacle.
