The activities of 5th Cairo Water Week (CWW) started on Sunday with the participation of 16 ministerial delegations, 54 official delegations and 66 international organizations with a total of 1,000 participants.
The event, held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, will run until October 19.
The event aims at including water issues in the climate work, boosting innovations to face dire water challenges with non-traditional means using modern technology, working on supporting and implementing integrated administration policies and reaching sustainable solutions to manage water resources to face population increase and climate change.
This comes within the framework of the state’s interest in water issues and prioritizing them on the climate agenda as the most important demands of sustainable and social development.
The event, which is held to discuss the impact of climate change on water sector, will include several high-level sessions and workshops in addition to presenting scientific researches from experts, professors, students and graduates of universities.
