Minister of Higher Education and Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghafar conferred on Monday with Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Egypt Frederika Meijer on cooperation in the health sector.
Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghafar said the meeting covered a study which is currently being prepared by UNFPA on the impact of climate change on women, girls and productive health in Egypt.
The minister was briefed on the general objectives of the study and the measures of UNFPA to conduct it in cooperation with the sectors concerned at the ministry, especially the preventive medicine, family planning as well as health care and nursing.
The two sides also addressed the impact of climate change on productive health as well as Egypt’s latest plans regarding family planning and productive health.
Deputy Health Minister Tarek Tawfiq, Head of the Healthcare and Nursing Sector Wael Abdel Raziq and Chief of the Family Planning Sector Hossam Abbas attended the meeting.
