Rabat – The Director General of National Security (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance (DGST), Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, held, on Monday in Abu Dhabi, talks with several security officials.
These talks, held at the beginning of Mr. Hammouchi’s working visit to the United Arab Emirates, focused on establishing a legal and regulatory framework aimed at promoting security cooperation, exchanging experiences in police training, and strengthening security skills.
Thus, Mr. Hammouchi held extensive talks with the Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, during which they discussed ways to consolidate joint security cooperation and expand its areas and forms, in line with the advanced level of distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates.
The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance also held talks with Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, Head of the United Arab Emirates Intelligence Services, focusing on various issues rela
ted to joint security cooperation, including the security situation and emerging threats regionally and internationally.
On this occasion, Mr. Hammouchi visited new security facilities in the United Arab Emirates, including the “Safe City”, under the Abu Dhabi Police, considered one of the pioneering technological projects in AI use in security and road fields, in a bid to strengthen road safety management for drivers and road users, thanks to the most advanced technologies in the world.
DGSN-DGST Director General also followed operational simulation presentations on the most modern technologies and technical solutions adopted by the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police in the various security fields and specialties of common scope. He also made field visits to industrial units specialized in the manufacture of security equipment and police work tools.
As part of his visit, Mr. Hammouchi held talks with Interpol President, Ahmed Nasser Al Risi, focusing on issues of global and multilateral security coop
eration in which the Kingdom of Morocco is considered a key player. Both parties reviewed the various security risks and threats, as well as the means to address them according to a shared vision for a safer world.
This visit, which will run until September 26th, is part of implementing an integrated action program devised by the DGSN-DGST Cluster, to develop the mechanisms of international security cooperation and to expand the areas and levels of coordination and security partnerships with the various security services of brotherly and friendly countries and within international security organizations.
It also reflects the common will of both parties to improve security action between the two countries, while paying particular attention to training and internships for police officers and investment in the qualification of human resources, as a key element to modernize police services that will enable them to meet the challenges of emerging security threats.
