ABU DHABI: The General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs has been awarded the 2024 “Game-Changer in Sustainability and Technology” award in the cargo security category at the Transport and Logistics Middle East (TLME) awards ceremony.
This is in recognition of its exemplary transformative initiatives and utilization of advanced technology in supply chains and cargo movement through Abu Dhabi’s border crossings.
Abu Dhabi Customs secured the cargo security award through voting by customers and partners, competing against other leading local and regional entities in the field of security and protection, in appreciation of its exceptional efforts in developing customs operations locally and globally, with the aim of facilitating trade, streamlining supply chains, enabling the transit of goods, and ensuring community security and protection.
The award was received by Abdullah Helal Al Muhairi, Director of Khalifa Port Customs Centre, during a ceremony held on the sidelines of the Future-proof Technologies Co
nference 2024 in Dubai.
As part of its strategic transformation journey, Abu Dhabi Customs succeeded in employing the latest technologies and advanced systems that achieve operational excellence and enhance the ability to conduct trade and customs operations optimally, in line with global best practices. This enabled it to achieve 100 percent compliance with the World Customs Organization’s Safe Framework of Standards, as well as a 100 percent compliance rate with free trade agreements.
