H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held separate meetings in with a number of foreign ministers from countries participating in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79) in New York.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed met with Abderaman Koulamallah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Chadians Abroad; Maria Malmer Stenergard, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden; Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India; Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan; Cho Tae-yul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Korea; and Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign of Trinidad and Tobago.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah discussed with the foreign ministers the paths of bilateral cooperation and partnership, and ways to advance them in all areas, including economic, commercial, investment, cultural, educational, health, agricultural, technology, artificial intelligence, food security, renewable energy, and climate.
The
discussions also addressed a range of topics on the agenda of the UNGA 79 and the efforts being made by the UN to empower international multilateral cooperation in addressing global challenges.
During the meetings, Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the UAE’s commitment to expanding its global partnerships to open new pathways for sustainable growth and prosperity, meeting the aspirations of people for a future rich in opportunities for advancement and well-being.
H.H. and the foreign ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in the regional and international arenas and their implications for international peace and security. They also discussed the situation in the Middle East and the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
