SHARJAH: Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) held its weekly meeting in Sharjah Ruler’s Office today, under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council.
The meeting held in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, discussed a number of topics on its agenda related to organising government work in Sharjah, developing various services, and following up on development projects in different sectors.
SEC approved the organisational structure of the Prevention and Safety Authority, which includes the organisational units of the Authority’s departments and divisions, which will contribute to developing and supporting the Authority’s workflow and achieving its goals.
The Council issued a decision to close the first regular session of the nineteenth annual term of the municipal councils in the Emirate of Sharjah, effective 27th
June, 2024, provided that the general committees in the municipal councils continue to conduct the work of the concerned municipal councils between sessions.
The Council reviewed the report on the achievements of the Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs’Ruwad’ for the year 2023, where the total value of funding since the establishment of the Foundation until the end of last year amounted to AED40.7 million; while 11 projects were funded during the past year with a value of AED3.8 million; the value of exemptions from fees amounted to AED7.6 million; and the organisation registered 291 new memberships for projects registered at the level of cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
The report included a number of consultations provided by ‘Ruwad’ to its members since its inception, which amounted to 1,742 legal, technical, and financial consultations. The number of participants in the training programmes and professional diploma programmes reached 8,310 trainees. The report also highlig
hted initiatives, workshops, and panel discussions for entrepreneurs that support SME owners in Sharjah.
The Council reviewed the amendments of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) regarding a draft law regulating the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment and directed the Council to submit the draft to H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to complete its legislative session.
