Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty held phone discussions on Sunday with his Omani counterpart Badr Albusaidi, Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, and Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff regarding the latest regional developments, focusing particularly on the recent US-Iran discussions in Muscat.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty praised Oman for its constructive and crucial role in mediation efforts. Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Tamim Khallaf, stated that Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s full support for initiatives aimed at achieving a political solution through dialogue and negotiations, thereby enhancing stability and security in the region.
During the conversations, Abdelatty acknowledged the efforts by the US and Iran to reach a political settlement through dialogue and negotiations, emphasizing Egypt’s appreciation for these attempts to alleviate regional tensions.
