Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, met with Egyptian ambassadors abroad and newly appointed ambassadors heading various diplomatic and consular missions.
This meeting comes within the framework of maintaining direct and continuous communication with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and to exchange assessments and views on key regional and international developments and diplomatic priorities for the coming year.
The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Director of the Public Diplomacy Department, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, stated that Minister Abdelatty emphasized during the meeting the central role of Egypt’s diplomatic arm in advancing the nation’s strategic interests, as it serves as the primary line of defence for Egypt’s interests abroad.
The Foreign Minister highlighted that Egypt’s foreign policy is responsive to its regional and global environment while distancing itself from the po
larization observed in the global system.
He affirmed that Egyptian interests have always been and will continue to be the compass guiding the priorities of Egyptian diplomacy.
The Spokesperson indicated that Dr. Abdelatty emphasized the critical importance of the economic role played by Egyptian missions abroad, in line with the priorities and objectives of the Egyptian government.
He underscored that Egyptian embassies have a significant responsibility in supporting the national economy by promoting promising investment opportunities in Egypt, enhancing trade exchanges, and facilitating the entry of Egyptian products into international markets in a way that reflects a positive and direct impact on the Egyptian citizen and serves to advance their interests.
Ambassador Abu Zeid added that Dr. Abdelatty emphasized during the meeting that protecting the interests of Egyptians abroad is a top priority for the work of Egyptian missions in host countries.
He pointed out that providing consular services to Egy
ptian citizens and strengthening their connection with their homeland is a core function of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He urged the heads of Egyptian missions abroad to address any obstacles faced by the Egyptian communities in host countries, to maintain regular and direct communication with them, and to explore how to leverage Egyptian expertise and capabilities abroad to support the country’s development efforts.
The Spokesperson concluded by noting that the Foreign Minister indicated his intention to hold this annual meeting with the heads of Egyptian missions abroad to enhance communication with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting also aims to address the key priorities of Egyptian embassies abroad, gather the ambassadors’ assessments on how to strengthen bilateral relations with host countries, and exchange evaluations on significant regional and international developments.

rs, answering their questions and listening to their suggestions for improving the working mechanisms of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
