Abdelatty Discusses ME Updates With US counterpart.


Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty has received a phone call from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to exchange views on the successive developments in the Middle East region.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers discussed the rapid developments in northern Syria and their repercussions on the security and stability in the region. Abdelatty emphasized the importance of respecting Syrian sovereignty and maintaining the unity and integrity of Syrian territory, as highlighted by his spokesperson Tamim Khallaf.

The conversation also included an exchange of views on the situation in the Gaza Strip. Abdelatty underscored the urgency of intensifying regional and international efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire and ensure an unconditional and sustainable flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Additionally, Abdelatty reviewed the proceedings of the recent Cairo Conference to Enhance Humanitarian Response in Gaza, hosted by
Egypt. The conference demonstrated a broad international commitment to supporting the Palestinian people at a humanitarian level and emphasized the necessity for Israel to cease policies that hinder the flow of aid into Gaza.

Furthermore, Abdelatty discussed the outcome of his visit to Port Sudan, reaffirming Egypt’s supportive stance towards Sudanese national institutions and respect for the unity and integrity of Sudanese territories.

The spokesperson concluded by noting Egypt’s vigorous efforts to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid into Sudan and to enable regional and international relief organizations to operate effectively amidst the worsening humanitarian situation.
