Amman: Chinese authorities announced the evacuation of more than 80,000 people in southwest China’s Sichuan Province due to recent rainstorms that hit the region.
According to Xinhua, heavy rains have swept through many cities and provinces in Sichuan province since Friday, causing flash floods and destroying homes, according to the province’s emergency management authorities.
According to the agency, there were no reports of human casualties as a result of the recent storms, while authorities announced precautionary decisions to evacuate local residents from flood-prone areas.
