The seventh Arab Housing Conference, which opened on Sunday 18/12/2022, is meant to probe optimal use of resources and ways to secure suitable residential units for Arab citizens.
Themed “Towards Smart Sustainable Cities that Achieve Quality of Life”, the three-day conference is held on the sidelines of the 39th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction, and under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Khaled el Zahabi, board chairman of the Housing and Building National Research Center (HBRC), in an inaugural speech, said the Arab world has been acting over the past decade to create a satisfied community with fulfilled needs and high-quality services.
A new pattern of the surrounding environment has been introduced through an integrated system of smart cities that employ and use technology in every-day life, Zahabi said. This, he noted, is meant to improve the quality of life and efficiency of operations.
Engineering legislation, policies and regulations have been outlined to help launch smart cities in the different Arab capitals, the HBRC official said.
The conference is attended by a number of Arab experts and researchers, who will deliver six main lectures and review 19 national worksheets and 65 research studies from 11 countries.
