The Ministry of Transport announced Sunday that six stations would enter service on January 1 within Greater Cairo’s third Metro Line. Those are located in Giza’s Sudan Street, Imbaba, Al Bohi, Al Qawmeya Al Arabeya, Ring Road, and Cairo’s Rod El Farag Axis.
The stations are part of the line’s third phase extending on 17.7 kilometers and comprising 15 stations. They start from Ataba Station to Kit Kat Square, northern Imbaba and the Ring Road, then to Mohandessin and Boulaq El Dakrour, passing through Wadi El Nile Street and Gameat Al Dewal street, and then extending to Cairo University.
The third phase is divided into two parts. On October 6, 2022, the pilot operation of the first part, which lies on four kilometers in the Egyptian capital, began. It consists of four underground stations, which are Gamal Abdel Nasser, Maspero, Safaa Hegazy, and Kit Kat.
